Official elections
information is available online at http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/
To register to vote,
residents must: be 18 years or older (pre-registration begins at 16); be a U.S.
citizen; be a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County.
Note that July 16 is
also the deadline for anyone interested in changing their political party
affiliation. Since Florida is a closed primary state, it is important for
voters to know what party they are registered as.
Visit the Elections
Department website and click on “Register to Vote.” After completing the online
form, it must be printed, signed, and mailed to the Elections Department at:
Supervisor of Elections, P.O. Box 521550, Miami, Florida 33152. This form MUST
be postmarked by July 16 to be accepted as valid for this election.
