This latest Miami Herald article (Click the link above) is yet another nudge to work toward making your own yard a backyard retreat.
A good read for anyone who wonders how they can improve the appearance and backyard livability of the current home. I previously posted an article last April describing and providing photos of many local creates you may have in your yard. The Miami Herald article cited in that post, "The wildlife is in the backyard" is no longer available online. Broward has more home Certified Wildlife Habitats than any county in the country. Why Broward and not Miami-Dade County? Green communities like Pinecrest, Cutler Bay, South Miami and Palmetto Bay should take the lead in creating the suburban oasis.
