Yet another change as to the Flyover - this time to Friday, May 8 - the schedule remains subject to change.

UPDATE: Confirmed information for Friday, May 8, 2020:

Arrrg. Yet another change. This time to Friday, May 8. Mea culpa - I am so excited about this - as my local source says, he feels that this is a reward for the time spent in quarantine.

I have to admit it, I am getting weary of the changes. So do I keep providing updates or simply forget about it.?This is not your usual event and changes happen ans this is political and many areas are clamoring for these flyovers, thus changes in schedules.

This is all according to the schedule of the Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

This, as in prior notifications, provides the disclaimer: Schedules could change. Watch this space for any updates/changes.

Keeping it in perspective - this is a time and date to go outside, or make way to an open field, to be ready to view. I calmed myself for this latest revision by saying, no one is including booking or cancellation fees with airfare or hotels. You know what I know when I know it.

EVENT: Both the Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds!

WHEN: Friday, May 8th - between 1:10 and 1:20 PM (times are approximate). Date is subject to confirmation.

WHERE: UP! - these planes are going to move fast - at 1,000 feet there will probably not be sufficient time to grab your camera and race out to see them - if you are waiting to hear them.  Fly plan should be posted with the mainstream media when complete and ready for publication.

There will be excitement in the air (presently scheduled for between 1:10 and 1:20 PM - times are approximateFriday, May 8! My source updated the date and provided the expected time. All of this information comes from a Federal "little birdie" who has been keeping me up to date  - and it should bring many out of their homes this Tuesday. Do not miss it!

My current information is that the flyover should actually fly over or at least close to Palmetto Bay twice. I will continue to update as changes or additional details are provided. The times/details are fluid due to weather and scheduling. Many areas are clamoring for this show and in some cases various areas have been visited by either the Navy Blue Angels or U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Some areas have been fortunate to have both the Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds together. It appears that South Florida will be blessed to have both!

So have your cameras and video equipment ready! The team will not be available to re-pose for a second chance at the photo. The flight altitude is said to be at 1,000 feet - this will be a sight to see.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: I will continue to publish updates, changes or additional information as it develops. Keep an eye on this space.  I am told that information and photos should be published in the Sunday edition of the Miami Herald.

  2. They are budgeted to both train and participate in air shows. Fuel is inexpensive at the moment. If it is not your cup of tea, at least keep your grumbling from those who can find enjoyment in it in this time of isolation: kids &a teachershoteacher's or months in front of screens for school, Drs & nurses bedside, vets in isolation..there are many who can use a reason to look up and smile.
