Please participate in the Better Bus Project - even if our elected officials are avoiding it.

The Better Bus Project is working to improve mass transit in Miami-Dade County. This is an effort that we should take seriously and participate in.  There is a meeting for Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay this Thursday, October 17, 2019. CLICK HERE to view the online information for this detailed Better Bus Project.

The Better Bus Project team has scheduled a total of 44 public workshops (CLICK HERE to view the scheduled workshops). Many of these workshops have been held. More are scheduled. Next up is the joint workshop set with Cutler Bay. There is no specific workshop presently scheduled to be held within the Village of Palmetto Bay. Thurs., Oct. 17 appears to be it.

Unfortunately, it appears that our Palmetto Bay elected officials will not be participating. Instead, there are 2 special council meetings scheduled in conflict. Each of these meetings were scheduled AFTER Palmetto Bay sanctioned and set this joint meeting with the Better Bus Project.

Here are the details for the Better Bus Project meeting:
Date:          October 17, 2019
Time:          6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location:    Cutler Bay Town Center - Council Chambers
Address:    10720 Caribbean Blvd., Suite 115, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

No word from Palmetto Bay as to whether there will an IBus Shuttle or we can take the Freebee from Palmetto Bay to the Better Bus Project community meeting.

I would encourage Palmetto Bay residents to attend the Better Bus Project public workshop, unless they have business before the Palmetto Bay Village Council at any of the number of special council meetings set for the same date and time.

What is noticed in conflict? - admittedly some very important items, but has there been any attempt to work around the Better Bus Project? This 10//17 meeting appears to be the one and only for our area.
