3:00 PM update for Sunday, 9/10/2017.  

It remains unsafe to venture outside.  Palmetto Bay personnel will be deployed as soon as safe to being assessing and clearing roads.  

Please - follow the curfew.  The CURFEW issued does include Palmetto Bay (all of) Miami-Dade County. 

We are on the decline side of winds and rain from Hurricane Irma – that does not make it any more safe.  The ground is saturated and trees standing now could fall hours from now from winds of lesser strength than what we are experiencing now.  

It is NOT SAFE to venture outside. But, please - continue to report in any block roads, downed power lines, flooded areas, etc.

Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez issues a curfew for Miami-Dade County

               

(MIAMI, September 10, 2017 – 2 p.m.)  As Miami-Dade County continues to brave the effects of Hurricane Irma, which is now a Category 4 storm, it is extremely important for residents to remain safe and indoors. It is expected that severe weather conditions will continue into the evening hours. Therefore, Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez has issued a curfew for Miami-Dade County for personnel to begin damage assessment and clearing of roadways.

Status Update:

• ·         Residents are to remain inside with all doors and windows closed.   
•       Consider any down powerlines as “hot” and avoid them. 
• ·         Treat all disabled traffic signals as a four-way stop.
• ·         Miami-Dade Transit Bus, Metrorail and Metromover services remain closed.
•       Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers remain closed.
•     Miami International Airport is open, but flights have been cancelled. While the airport is open, it is not a shelter facility.
•       9-1-1 is for emergency calls only, call 3-1-1 with service-related questions.
•       A curfew for Miami-Dade County will be in effect as of 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. tomorrow morning.
•    Miami-Dade County offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Essential emergency county employees will be notified as to when to report to aid in the recovery efforts. 
•      Many thanks to the elected officials and first responders during this time.
