Interested persons can attend the Thursday hearing to speak for or against the proposed FPL power lines. The hearing is scheduled to run from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18. It will be held at the Coral Gables Youth Center, 405 University Drive, Coral Gables.
Coral Gables is one of the cities involed in the adminstrative action that is ongoing, along with Miami, Miami-Dade County, South Miami, and Pinecrest. Coral Gables has filed an additional lawsuit which claims that “The city and its residents will be irreparably harmed by the visual impacts, massive and over burdensome proposed power poles and lines,”
“The city filed this lawsuit to protect its right-of-way and the quality of life of its citizens along the right-of-way,” Coral Gables Attorney Craig Leen said. See the full story in the Miami Herald, the link is at top.
